Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta is calling upon South Sudan leaders to expedite the ongoing peace process for the sake of the citizens.

Mr Kenyatta says Kenya would like to see a quick restoration of peace in the country and an end to the suffering of the people.

“Citizens look to the leaders for direction, so please take the lead in this peace process,” he told the leaders.

“No amount of pressure or force will bring peace if you – as the leaders – do not agree to end the conflict.”

President Kenyatta was speaking yesterday when he separately met President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar and his delegation in Nairobi, according to Capital FM.

He first met Dr. Machar in the morning and held a lengthy consultative meeting on South Sudan peace process. In the afternoon, the Head of State held a similar meeting with President Kiir.
