The Minister of Defense, Kuol Manyang Juuk, says the situation in residential areas within Juba is relatively calm after gunfight last Thursday night.
He told Eye Radio this morning that the government is investigating the clashes which have left at least five soldiers dead.
“We understand there is panic among the population. I am asking the population to be calm. If anything has happened, they can go to their duties,” Mr Manyang said in an exclusive interview with Eye Radio.
The SPLM-In Opposition says they will soon issue a statement on the matter.
