The Democratic Change Party is calling on the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission to replace Dr Lam Akol as their representative to the body.

The party, which is currently chaired by Hon Onyoti Adigo also urged President Salva Kiir to appoint its new members into the Transitional National Legislative Assembly.

This year, Dr Lam Akol abandoned his position as a Minister and chairperson of the DC party and later on formed a new party in Nairobi.

Speaking to the press Wednesday, DC party’s spokesperson, Magot Maker says their party is a signatory to the peace agreement, and its new leadership changes should also be effected in the various institutions.

“We’re ….asking the JMEC to put the new leadership in the position of our former chairman and other positions which belongs to us,” Hon Adigo said.

The party has also asked the President to name their representatives to the transitional legislature, saying:

“We are asking for our members to be announced and to come into the parliament and work for the full implementation of the peace.”

The JMEC is yet to respond.
