Church on crimes committed in conflict

Author : | Published: Saturday, June 27, 2015

The South Sudan Council of Churches (SSCC) says the warring parties must be held accountable for the crimes they have committed during the 18-month conflict.

The SSCC was responding to the statement of the Secretary-General of the SPLM, Pagan Amum, who said they would apologize to the people of South Sudan for the mayhem they have committed during this conflict.

The General-Secretary of SSCC, Fr. Dr. James Oyet Latansio, says the people of South Sudan can forgive those who have committed atrocities only when they account for their mistakes.

He speaks with Nichola Mandil in Juba.
