The Governor of Boma, Baba Medan, has called for peace and harmony in the state.

This comes after tension that followed the removal of David Yau Yau as the chief administrator of greater Pibor administration.

Mr Medan was appointed as governor of the area after the creation of the 28 states in December last year.

Last month, nine people were killed in a clash between the SPLA and forces of the former Cobra Faction.

Governor Medan called on the people who took arms during his appointment to return home and reconcile with the community.

“We need our state to be stable and have peace and harmony,” he told Eye Radio.

Before his appointment as governor, Baba Medan was the deputy governor of Jonglei State.
