Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir is expected to visit Juba soon to encourage the parties to implement the peace agreement, the Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs has said.

Tut Galuak revealed this after meeting President Salva Kiir on Wednesday.

Mr Galuak was one of the senior government officials who accompanied the First Vice President, Taban Deng Gai, to Khartoum recently.

Mr Galuak said President Salva Kiir has requested his Sudanese counterpart, Omar El-Bashir, to visit Juba as part of bilateral relations between the two countries.

“The Sudanese President Omar Bahir accepted a request by President Salva Kiir to pay a visit to South Sudan in the near future for the continuation of the implementation of the peace agreement,” he told SSBC.

“That will also help improve relations between the two presidents so that there will be stability in the two countries.”

Mr Galuak also said the presence of the former First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar in Khartoum will not affect the relations between the two countries.

Sudanese Minister of Information, Ahem Bilal Osman, announced on Tuesday that Dr Riek Machar was in Khartoum for medical treatment.
