Author : | Published: Monday, February 29, 2016

President Salva Kiir has summoned the Governor of Boma, Baba Medan, over the recent insecurity in the state.

Last week, state officials in the area said nine soldiers were killed in a clash between the Cobra Forces and the SPLA.

They said the main market was burnt down during the fighting and some areas in the town were looted.

Local officials also reported tension between the guards of the governor and forces loyal to former administrator Gen David Yau Yau.

“We are going to meet with the president any time from now,” said Governor Medan, who is now in Juba.

However, he said the situation is now calm.
