Two arrested over attack on a government vehicle in EES

Two people have been arrested in Torit County, Eastern Equatoria State for the suspected shooting of a government vehicle.

Officials say the two fired at a tipper lorry at around 6pm over the weekend along Torit-Ikotos road.

Torit Commissioner German Charles Ojok said the suspects – Osuru Mulayi and Makario Oholong – were tracked and arrested by security forces that was sent to the area after they received reports of the attack.

However, Commissioner Ojok said one of the suspects has escaped from captivity.

“Mr Makario Oholong ran away but his gun was captured,” he said.

The vehicle that was shot at was on an errand from Torit to Ikotos.

Mr Oholong will be taken to court soon to answer the charges.
