30 women and children who were abducted on Wednesday night in Mundri West in Western Equatoria State have returned to the county.

They were abducted in a cattle raid where seven people were killed.

The Acting Commissioner of the county, John Cleopa, says the women and children were released a day after the incident and were left stranded in the forest.

“Yesterday, they appeared in one of the bomas called Lendegua. They are now in the police,” Mr Cleopa told Eye Radio.

“We are trying to find something for them just like food and blankets.”

Several people were wounded and more 500 cattle were stolen during the raid.

Two communities involved in the raid were from the neighboring states.
