The Police Service say they are holding nine people caught in possession of 170 Jerry cans of fuel on Tuesday.

Recently, President Salva Kiir ordered the security organs to crack down on illegal sale of fuel.

This order comes amid fuel crisis in the country.

“It was being illegally transported from Nesitu area to Juba by nine people, who are now in police custody,” Spokesman Brigadier General Daniel Justin told Eye Radio.

He said the accused, whose identities have been withheld, will be arraigned in court soon.

Brigadier Justin says after a court ruling, the police will choose one gas station where by all the seized fuel will be sold to the public.
