At least eight people have been wounded in a celebratory gunfire during the marking the SPLA day in Wau Town, says the Governor Wau State Governor, Elias Waya.

The incident happened last night.

Mr. Waya was addressed a gathering at the Wau Stadium during the celebration of the day.

“Many people did not come out because of the last night’s gun shots, and we have 8 people who have been wounded as a result. You all know if you shoot randomly in the air, the bullets can accidentally hurt people,” he said.

Governor Waya warned the organized against any random shooting in the area.
