Twelve people have been killed and four others injured, including Commissioner of Lafon County along Torit-Lafon road in Imatong state.

A police officer, who spoke to told Eye Radio’s reporter in Torit said a number of soldiers and civilians were among the dead.

He said the commissioner and one of his bodyguards were injured in the ambush.

The convoy of the commissioner came under attack while reportedly carrying salaries for civil servants in Lafon County.

A medical worker in the Torit government hospital says the commissioner and his bodyguard are suffering from bullet wounds to their legs and are receiving treatment.
